The Regional Director of Operations is an A-Playing business leader whose ability to motivate, lead and executive is unquestioned. The Director of Operations will work in the field overseeing/managing regional managers and client accounts in the North Jersey market (Bergen & Hudson Counties).
Primary responsibilities include: building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, regional managers and field associates; ensuring high client satisfaction; coaching and developing regional managers; recruitment, training & on-boarding; strategy, planning and financial management; assigning and directing work; evaluating job performance; strengthening employee engagement; and rewarding and disciplining regional managers and field associates. The Director of Operations will also discuss and address complaints and resolve problems while keeping a professional relationship with the client. Must be available to clients, regional managers, field associates, senior management, and other managers at all times.
We are looking for an experienced, strong regional leader with management experience, preferably in the hotel/hospitality (front desk) or security services industry. The Director of Operations will report to the Vice President and serve as a member of the Senior Management Team. This position will contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.
TASKS | FUNCTIONS:
Coach, develop and supervise up to 4 regional managers who are responsible for managing the daily operations of 200 front desk/security associates working at 60 residential & commercial sites in Bergen & Hudson Counties in NJ; work closely with regional managers on recruitment/staffing, establishing work schedules, compensation, onboarding, training, job performance, compliance, discipline, and change management; project a strong leadership and management presence in the field; ensure performance of field associates meets with company and client standards
Build strong client relationships and ensure clients are satisfied with hospitality/security services provided by field associates; visit/communicate regularly with clients about expectations, job performance of field associates, and ways to further improve/expand services at the site or other sites
Manage and increase effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, Finance and IT) through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions
Oversee financial management for assigned regions and ensure adherence to budgets
Perform scheduled and random site visits to ensure client satisfaction, address concerns, review operating systems, and assess field associates (strengthen employee engagement and retention, identify training needs, evaluate job performance, handle corrective and disciplinary actions, ensure associates are professional, in uniform, wearing ID cards and that the job is being done per contract, etc.)
Lead/participate in training sessions at client sites with field associates; maintain regular communications with field associates
Improve operational systems, processes and policies in support of company's mission
Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a management position, preferably as a Regional Manager with the hotel/hospitality services industries
Exceptional leadership and management skills, including developing and managing entry/junior-level regional managers & field employees
Strong problem solving and decision making skills
Experience in recruitment, training and discipline
Possess excellent written and communication skills
Proven ability to build and foster effective client & employee relationships
Highly organized, detailed, courteous, friendly, professional and amiable
Exceptional time management skills
Able to multi task work and perform well under pressure
Extremely dependable and reliable
Must be proficient in the English language; second language a plus
Must have a valid/active Driver's License and vehicle
Proficient in all MS Applications
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Annual base compensation between $70,000 and $90,000 depending upon relevant work experience. This position offers insurance (heath, dental & vision), a car allowance, 401K plan, and bonus programs.
