Terre a terre in Carlstadt, NJ is seeking an experienced Saute cook to help grow our team of industry professionals. We are looking for full-time availability at this time. The candidate will be working in close quarters with chef. This position is for a sous chef quality cook who can run kitchen when chef owner is not present. be able to handle preparation and work his station.
The kitchen and food form the backbone of our service team, acting as liaisons between our vision and our guests. Candidates should have 3 -- 5 years saute experience in High end American cuisine, at least one of those in a restaurant recognized for its excellence. TEMPS with meat and a delicate hand with fish is required.
While technical proficiency is critical to proper execution of our service and hospitality, it is with the same level of importance that personality and character will be used to weigh the candidate's potential and consideration. We strive to create an honest, education driven and team-based healthy work environment. Interest in Farm to table is a pre-requisite for this position, as well as a familiarity with culinary terminology. An interest in dedication and growth gives our kitchen staff a unique collective edge, with everyone bringing something different to the table.
