What we are looking for in a culinary instructor:
The chef instructor will instruct guests with the provided recipe and lesson plans. It is important that the chef instructor not only be knowledgeable in the professional culinary techniques but can impart the skill effectively - allowing adaptations that the students can apply to their own cooking at home.
It is the chef instructor that will make the experience so fulfilling that the guest will see our kitchen as a place to return to for constant culinary education.
The most important thing is that the guests go home happy and feel as though they learned a lot from our chef instructor while being able to replicate the dishes and techniques at home.
We are looking for someone with an availability of 1 to 3 times a week as well as other availability to fill in when other chefs become unavailable.
We would prefer someone who can also assist in recipe development for our classes as well as our chef's tables with potential for part time catering for events.
-Review and execute recipes and lesson plans
-Set up cooking class with all the necessary tools and equipment and checking ingredients -Coordinate with Kitchen Assistant in the preparation and execution of the class.
-Ensure that all applicable health and safety codes are followed per State/National requirements
-Instruct in a pleasant yet educational manner that will entice future attendance
-Answer any and all questions that guests have in regards to locating specific menu items, techniques in the kitchen, food care requirements
-Demonstrate a true passion for the culinary arts and a desire to help others learn your artwork in the kitchen
A culinary arts degree from an accredited school or equivalent in experience Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
Speaks fluent English
Able to stand for 3 to 4 hours at a time
Available to teach nights and weekends
Available to teach 1-3 classes a week on a regular basis
