We rescued Lucy a few months ago when we received a call saying if she was not rescued that night she would be shot. When she arrived she was emaciated, covered in sores, and terrified. We later learned that she had been kept outside on a 2ft chain. She was left to die in the yard after her owner was arrested for drug charges and the children were removed by protective services.
She has since put on on weight, overcome her food aggression caused by being starved, and come out of her shell. However she is still struggling with potty training. She needs to go out frequently and kept on a schedule. She is crate trained so going to work or out to eat etc won't be an issue.
Lucy would do best in a active family. She loves to go on hikes, play in creeks, or go for bike rides. She loves to play and be around the family 24/7. A good fence is a MUST. A doggy door would be her dream come true.
Lucy has skin allergies so you would have to be committed to getting her monthly steroid shot. Please call your vet in advance to check the prices and decide if this is something you can afford.
We had her dna tested and the papers will come with her.
