Escuela Bilinge Internacional (EBI) is an independent co-educational day school located in the Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland and Triangle neighborhood of Emeryville, of the San Francisco Bay Area. The school offers a Spanish-English dual language program, extending from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade. EBI opened its doors in September 2006, with Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten.
EBI's progressive education program is based on a child-centered, constructivist, inquiry-based approach. EBI is authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and is an IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) candidate school.

This position is responsible for communicating and promoting the Mission of the school to all of EBI's constituents. The Director develops and implements new and existing strategic and tactical branding and marketing communications initiatives for the school, including those that support admissions, advancement, internal and external communications and publications and public relations initiatives.
Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain message and brand guidelines congruent with the EBI Mission.
Work with other key personnel to coordinate, document, refine and implement the Communication and Marketing Plan across the school's annual calendar to ensure timely publicity and strong results for all program needs.
Manage and publish a weekly newsletter to the community.
Write, edit and manage the production of key school publications.
Manage media relations, including writing press releases and cultivating relations with local media.
Support the development and deployment of other scheduled and ad hoc communications to the community.
Maintain the school's website, including blog releases, content review and updating, and UX review to improve site navigation to achieve its objectives of expanding awareness of the school and attracting prospective families.
Organize and manage the documentation, including photographs and video, of school events and activities for communications and public relations purposes.
Manage the school's social media presence in line with other marketing programs and social media best practices.
Implement activities, such as online and offline advertising and public relations, to promote EBI outside the community
Periodically review and update crisis communications procedures and template messages templates.
Qualifications and Requirements include:
A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism - Masters preferred.
Minimum of 10 years experience in communications/marketing role, including experience with email and print executions
Excellent written and verbal communications skills -- extremely strong as writer, editor and proofreader
Experience working with freelance designer to create powerful creative based on the project's goal
Superior ability to bridge from strategic plan to tactical execution of multiple projects simultaneously
Strong experience using design programs, email publishing, web publishing, PowerPoint, and other software programs
Extreme attention to detail
Ability to prioritize across work plan in order to meet all deadlines; a self-starter
Desire and ability to collaborate well with stakeholders and volunteers on work plans and work product
Interest in continued knowledge growth and professional development
Bilingual, biliterate -- Spanish/English preferred
Experience working in a school or relevant non-profit environment preferred
Ability to manage competing priorities, independently and within a team-oriented environment.
