Join us at the Corvallis Environmental Center (CEC) and get hands on experience doing environmental work. Our mission is to educate, engage and inspire people to create a healthy and sustainable community. You can be a part of it and build your work experience. Internships are a way to learn more about the world of non-profit and environmental work, and to get involved in one of our programs.

We currently have internships available in the areas of Climate and Energy Action, Nature Education, Sustainable Agriculture and NonProfit Development.

Public Outreach Internships with Energize Corvallis -

Corvallis is one of 50 communities in the United States in the semifinals for the $5 million Georgetown University Energy Prize. To win the prize we need to significantly reduce residential and municipal energy use during 2015 and 2016. Public Outreach interns will help invite everyone in Corvallis to reduce their energy use by going door-to-door and tabling at community events. Interns will be responsible for registering people for the Take Charge Corvallis program, signing people up for free home energy kit installations, and promoting other Energize Corvallis programs.

For priority consideration, complete your application by midnight on August 24, 2015. A final round of applications is due by midnight on September 1, 2015

Development Internships with the CEC -

The CEC is an umbrella organization that runs several programs aimed at environmental stewardship. We also has a brand new database! It is a comprehensive Salesforce system that is meant to be the entire system's rolodex. Our donors, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, friends and colleagues are all managed with this system. A good database is critical to our work and is the foundation of how the CEC views its community. Every nonprofit has a solid team of administrators behind it helping it do its great work. Learn the inner workings of a small grassroots nonprofit and see if this is a career path for you.

This internship requires 60 hours. Interns can develop their own schedule with a minimum of 6 hours per week. Applications are due no later than Sept. 11th but we are looking to bring someone on board as soon as possible.

Nature Education Internships with Avery House Nature Center -

Avery House Nature Center offers place-based environmental education to youth of all ages in Corvallis. We work in schools, at our Avery House location in Avery Park and in natural areas throughout Corvallis.

Applications for Fall due no later than Sept. 11th, but preference will be shown to those that apply early and can begin the week of Sep 14th.

Sustainable Agriculture Internships with Edible Corvallis Initiative -
