We are holding a 1950's Hollywood themed charity event for our grass roots cancer organization. We are 100% volunteer run and focus on directly assisting people with cancer directly through a variety of programs.
Over the past 18 months, UCAAN (United Cancer Advocacy Action Network), a Grassroots 501c3 cancer organization has received some big acknowledgements including a Presidential Award, a $25,000 (3 year) grant from Kaiser Permanente Hospitals Woodland Hills for a preventative dental program and an award for the Full County Winner of "Best Non-profit Organization" for the 2015 Ventura County Star Reader's Choice Awards. UCAAN has continued to grow over the years since its inception in 2009 and has now helped over 3,000 cancer patients, warriors and their families nationwide. We invite YOU to become part of this organization through support that will help us raise even more money for vital financial and support programs for cancer patients as well as help for their families. This is a huge Gap we aim to fill and cannot do it without YOUR HELP.
If you know someone who has 1950's Hollywood props we could use for the event or have anyone you can connect us to, please let me know.
A little more about the cause: After a two-time terminal battle with Leukemia at 26 years old, I thought that my life was over. In one fell swoop I lost my independence, my job and most of my friends, life was uncertain. Instead of allowing a diagnosis like that to control my life, I embraced it and started a non-profit organization that would focus on the immediate needs of the patients as opposed to the research. I am thankful I had cancer, because it has brought me to do something greater than myself and has allowed me to impact the lives of so many over the years through UCAAN. I hope we continue to grow and become the largest organization to offer financial support locally and nationwide to those with any form of cancer, any age. With Your Support This Is Possible!
