Prime line catcher plays a key role in the quality process of manufacturing high end custom MDF doors. Prime line catcher performs quality checks, performs minor finish and repair functions and with another prime line catcher lifts all doors manufactured onto prime line conveyor. This is a physically demanding repetitive manufacturing position
Adhere to all safety policies.
Know and understand specific safety requirements for each piece of equipment assigned to.
Wear appropriate safety equipment for each job assigned.
Be able to instruct any helper in safety aspects of the job
Basic Skills Required
Must be able to communicate with supervisors and management in English.
Ability to operate a handheld sander.
Able to use a flat bladed knife to apply epoxy filler to make minor repairs.
Able to repeatedly lift doors from cart or pallet onto conveyor.
Able to properly complete necessary work documents such as time cards and scheduling reports.
Can accurately measure work using tape measure and/or calipers.
Completes schedules in order of priority.
Understands quality parameters and specifications and performs high-quality work.
Specialized Skills Required
Individual must be able to perform their product functions at a consistently high quality level (producing little scrap, mistakes and production errors).
Must read and interpolate engineering specs and drawings and layout work accordingly.
2- 5 years in woodworking/production environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand and alternately required to walk or stand. The employee is required to repetitively use fine finger movements, eye/hand movements and push/pull movements. The employee is continually required to lift 50-75lbs. The employee is occasionally required to lift 100 lbs. The employee must continually bend or stoop and kneel or crouch and push or pull. The employee is occasionally required to reach above shoulder and handle or grip. The employee is required to rotate head.
