Configures, maintains, monitors and supports network and systems. Interfaces with other departments, vendors, or consultants to resolve problems and proactively upgrade programs.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Identify technological gaps, assess and determine requirements that meet technical and business needs, present options and recommendations to management, and plan and lead implementation of technical solutions.
Monitor and install network operating system and equipment firmware patches and updates
Install, test, and implement new network and system software and manufacture maintenance releases and utilities.
Create and maintain server components, network technology roadmaps, documentation for all network architectures, baselines and procedures.
Implement, troubleshoot, and administer VPNs, VLANs, load balancers and firewalls.
Perform system audits and document findings.
Evaluates and recommends new network and system software products.
Resolves timely system and network problems. Diagnoses problems using network systems tools, recommends solutions and coordinates repair efforts.
Assist with end user support and technical issues resolution.
Network and systems support calls are handled professionally and in timely manner in accordance with approved support and request methodology procedures.
Network and support processes and procedure documentation is current and maintained.
Assists with daily/weekly backups, restorations in accordance to RU standards (written log, transfer of backup tapes, proper rotation of tapes, secured location).
Plans and supports hardware and software upgrades.
Knowledgeable and proficient in use of IS project management methodology.
Adheres and upholds all IS policies, procedures and standards.
Leverages and supervises external resources.
Skills & Requirements
Associates Degree in Computer Science and /or equivalent experience
3 -5 years of network & systems experience
Microsoft Windows (server and desktop) and Mac Support
Proficient with MS Suite including Sharepoint 2013, MS Exchange and SSCM
Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications
Proven skills in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation
Experience with Data Cabling / Computer Facilities maintenance
Experience with scripting, programming, or SQL
Advanced Troubleshooting skills in a multi-user high pressure environment
Solid knowledge of personal computers, software and hardware
Excellent customer service skills
Proven flexibility when working with, and training, people with varying degrees of technical knowledge
Ability to provide leadership in planning and implementing complex information technology programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate documentation and reports; read, interpret, explain and apply technical information on business processes, software and hardware for technical and non-technical users
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
This position will be based out of the Corporate Office near Pioneer Square and all work will be done on site with limited ability to work remotely.
