Substantial is a steadily-growing, eight-year-old, 70-person product development studio headquartered in Seattle with an office in San Francisco. We design and develop everything from mobile apps to large, embedded multi-touch installations for startups, global brands, and not-for-profits. We're looking for an IT manager to manage our devices and services throughout the company.

As IT manager you will help to maintain high levels of productivity throughout the company by purchasing, tracking, and maintaining hardware and administering services that everyone uses in the course of their work. In addition to handling immediate needs, you will also help to ensure that our gear, facilities, and accounts are prepared for growth.

You enjoy problem solving and tracing issues back to their root cause. You enjoy working at multiple levels, moving easily from deep in the weeds of implementation to higher level strategic planning. You also enjoy learning and are continually looking to improve your own skills and the abilities of those around you. You're a clear communicator, able to move between audiences of varied technical expertise.
