The Registered Dietitian will advise and counsel others on food and nutrition. They will explain nutrition issues to clients, assess the dietary and health needs of clients, develop meal plans for clients, gauge the effects of these meal plans, promote nutrition through public speaking, and keep up to date on the latest research in nutritional and food sciences. The Registered Dietitian will also provide medical nutrition therapy to clients.
Must be registered and maintain registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration through the American Dietetic Association. Continuing education in dietetics and nutrition is required, complying with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association requirements.
Must have assigned administrative code assigned by State of Nevada in order to plan meals
Must be able to be successfully granted provider privileges by the Credentials Office and maintain privileges. Certification as a Nutrition Support Dietitian and/or Diabetic Educator is desirable.
BS in Nutrition Science
Knowledge of Diet Therapy Fundamentals and Diet Therapy
Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) preferred.
