To assist the pastoral team and other church leadership in various ministry and administrative functions while demonstrating Christian character, attitude, flexibility, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be a responsible self-starter with strong communication, organization, and technological skills.Position OverviewServe as the communication liaison for the churchAccurately receive information through the various methods (phone, email, conversations, etc.)Accurately and clearly communicate information to the appropriate people and organizational structures.Communicate with pastoral staff in a timely fashion with all pertinent informationOrganize, maintain, and update the church database, calendar, weekly newsletter, website, bulletin, Sunday Power Point presentation,and other publications as necessary.Manage various groups of church volunteers (ushers, hospitality team, etc.)Serve as a ministry assistant to various church ministriesPrepare (from provided curriculum) materials for weekly children's ministry classesView all communication opportunities within job as ministry opportunitySupport children's, students, and adult ministry directors as neededPromote a positive image of the churchShow grace and love to all people.Create and maintain a well-organized, clean, and purposeful foyer and office space.Manage administrative systems and supplies (including but not limited to)Consistently update Realm (cloud-based church data base system)Keep office and kitchen neat, functional, stocked with necessary suppliesManage the security system, keys, lockbox, copier (including upkeep), facilities usage agreements, phone system, etc.Attend monthly Church Council Meeting and take accurate and and thorough meeting minutesAssist the pastor and council with any other assigned administrative tasks.Organizational Relationships
Reports directly to the Lead Pastor. Works collaboratively with all Program and Support Staff, Church Council members and Ministry Team Leaders. Works within the guidelines of the Congregation's Constitution and By-Laws, personnel policies, and the principles of the Evangelical Covenant Church.Qualifications and Expectations

From a professional perspective, this position requires a high attention to detail, creativity, dependability, loyalty, self-discipline, organization, self-motivation, computer literacy, ability to multi-task, proper etiquette, and the ability to prioritize between tasks. In addition, must maintain confidentiality with personal matters concerning members and visitors, confiding with Pastoral staff, as necessary.Operational Skills RequirementsHave working knowledge or and ability to learn most administrative office equipment, including PC, MAC, Multi-line Telephones, Copy/Print Equipment, Filing Systems, Folding Machine, etc.Demonstrate working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.Possess strong desire to support and further the ministry God is doing through Cornerstone.Hours
Approximately 27-29 hours per week in church office with basic schedule 10:00 AM -- 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Must also be present at Monthly Council Meeting which typically meets the third Thursday of each month starting at 7pm lasting about 2 hours.
