The Procurement Specialist is responsible for requesting bids and proposals, writing and overseeing the preparation of contracts, negotiating contract terms, researching and interpreting contract provisions, and awarding contracts to vendors. The Procurement Specialist also updates the procurement system, resolves contract discrepancies, drafts reports and maintains procurement files. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepares and conducts effective and appropriately prioritized acquisitions of equipment, materials, supplies, construction and services.

Drafts accurate contracts for formal procurements, including but not limited to, Requests for Proposal's (RFP's) and Invitations for Bids (IFB's), in accordance with state and federal regulations
Analyzes bids and proposals for content and price, negotiates contract terms, selects vendors and awards contracts in accordance with authorized approval levels.

Researches and interprets contract provisions including contract processes, penalties, and compliance terms.

Resolves all contract discrepancies.

Updates the procurement system and documents procurements in hard copy and electronic format.

Generates accurate and timely reports and drafts agenda items

Provides continuous effort to improve procurement operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly with others in order to provide quality customer service.

All candidates will be subject to a background investigation including criminal and credit history.

Pay is between $25-$32/hour
