Quality Engineer

TxMQ is currently assisting their client in northern PA in the search for a qualified Quality Engineer within the Metals Manufacturing and Machining industry.

REPORTING TO: Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare Quality plans and manufacturing process plans
Conduct sales order reviews for quality requirements
Develop and maintain quality procedures which include problem solving and error proofing
Conduct internal and external quality audits
Perform dimensional inspection and certification activities for 3 plant locations
Assist the Supervisor of the Test Lab and Chief Inspector, including assessing and coordinating upcoming inspection requirements for 3 plant locations
Assist the Supervisor of the Test Lab and Chief Inspector to ensure accuracy, reliability and calibration integrity of dimensional inspection equipment
Maintain compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008
Maintain required organization, filing, and storage of all quality documents
Travel required to other locations within 5-30 mile radius when necessary
Provide support and training as required to insure compliance to established procedures
Any other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time to support the business needs

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management or technically related field or a commensurate level of related experience and education
4 years testing and/or quality experience in the metals industry
Dimensional Inspection Experience
Quality experience within a heavy materials, metals processing, machining, manufacturing environment
Familiarity with the requirements of ISO 9002:1994 and/or ISO 9001.2000
Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T ( Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing )
Ability to analyze large quantities of data and write technical reports
Strong interpersonal skills
Personal Computer skills ( Microsoft Word and Excel )
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Able to organize and prioritize work load

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION S:
Familiarity with Government / Military Specifications
Nondestructive testing ( NDT ) experience
Prior Supervisory or Leadership experience
