Hi! I am Mouse, I am a dog friendly people friendly 2 year old pit bull type mix that is looking for a new home. My mom says I am not good with cats, it seems I show too much interest in chasing them and have a high prey drive around the other animals she has.
I love to spend time with my people, I am not fond of affection but I love laying next to you, or on you. But you can skip the petting, I just want to be near you. I know some commands too! Mom says I'm dense though. I know how to sit, lay down, "wait" (for my food, I hate this one but I do it), back up, come, stay and speak. My mom has also started off leash work with me, although she says I would be easily distracted in a busier environment.
I have not been kid tested, but I am a ball of energy, I love playing ball or tug or just running with a person, I like being active! I am mid sized (52#) and bouncy I may do best with older children or teenagers. I love going for rides and hanging my head out the window.
Did I mention I love other dogs? And food, but I am not food aggressive, mom can take my bowl or hold it while I eat I don't mind! Or my bones, I don't guard them from people, mom can take them or hold them, though I prefer if other dogs left me alone while eating!
I was rescued April 30th 2014 from city of Hartford animal shelter with demodectic mange. Everyone said it was not contagious and I am healed now, my hair just needs to grow back in spots! I don't like baths because of this, I was getting them weekly to bi weekly with special shampoos and other treatments. They scraped my skin, and they were excited when the scrapes came back normal and negative and kept coming back negative and normal! I tell you it wasn't a fun road but I still enjoyed going to the vets wagging tail and kisses every time!
I am in need of a home only because of my issue with the cats and farm animals. My mom says my life here has become too isolated and unfair and it's best for me to find a home that will love me and let me be a dog, will that be you?
She says she won't bring me to a shelter and will ensure I find the right home, let's help her do that.
Mouse is looking for a cat free - farm animal free home. She would do best in an active home. I will be rehoming her with all of her records from May 2014 to current (she is UTD on rabies and spayed) I am asking a rehoming fee (which will be used to sponsor another dog like her) as well as I will place her with an adoption contract. I require vet references and private references. If you are interested in Mouse please email or call for more information.
