Classic Mid-Century Modern Eames molded fiberglass chair for Herman Miller....purchased in the 1950's or early 1960's. It measures approx. 27 1/2" to top of back and 24 3/4" outside arm to outside arm. The seat height is approx. 15 1/2" and the seat depth is approx. 17". It has a black 'X' base with the original big shock mounts. I believe this color is Parchment....one of the original colors. I don't believe that the early Eames chairs had any Herman Miller markings except for a sticker on the bottom of the chair....& that sticker fell off a long time ago. I did not see any rope edge.
The legs are in great shape but it is missing one foot glide and the other glides have some rust (see photos). The shell is also in great shape, but could use a good cleaning. At one point my mother was going to paint a design on it & so you'll see some masking tape residue still on it (those pieces of tape are the 'yellow' spots in the close-up photos). I thought I had gotten all of the tape off just by soaking it, but I see there are still a few small spots that you'll have to clean off.
From an estate. This is a fabulous, timeless chair in a great neutral color!!
