Farming Company located in Chowchilla, California, has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager.

This Company is a vertically integrated, full service farm management firm dedicated to provide "turnkey" services and first class quality unmatched in the industry. The Company farms ten different permanent crops comprised of more than 20,000 acres, develops another 1,000 acres annually and is included on the list of the Nation's "Top 10" nut growers.

Reporting to the corporate Treasurer, the Accounting Manager will supervise, monitor and evaluate all day-to-day accounting activities.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department
Process month and year end activities, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, etc. for multiple entities
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Coordinate and complete annual audits
Provide recommendations
Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Meet financial accounting objectives
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
3 - 5 years proven working experience as Accounting Manager
Ability to manage large amounts of data
Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
Ability to direct and supervise
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
Experience with Sage 100 and QuickBooks preferred
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build relationships and work well with a diverse team

Physical Requirements:
Sitting at a desk for 6 - 8 hours
Working on a computer for 6 - 8 hours a day
This position is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary
Works under rigid deadlines and occasionally required to work outside normal working hours to accomplish tasks
Typical office environment
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
