We are a specialty bakery that creates custom cakes for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. We are looking for a Customer Service/ Administrative Assistant who will primarily be focused on providing day-to-day administrative support for the owner of the bakery, as well as customer service for our customers by answering phones, emails, taking orders, and answering questions. The right candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as basic computer knowledge. In addition, s/he must be good at following instructions, have good follow-up skills and a strong attention to detail. Administrative background is a plus, but not required.
A Customer Service/Administrative Assistant will typically:
Confer with customers by telephone, e-mail, or in person to provide information about products or services, take and enter orders, cancel orders, or obtain details of complaints
Determine pricing for products sold
Refer unresolved customer grievances to the manager for further investigation
Be able to learn and maintain basic knowledge about the bakery's products and services
Update prices in the system as directed by the manager
Maybe some light bookkeeping
Other duties as assigned
A Customer Service/Administrative Assistant candidate must possess any one or any combination of the following:
High-school diploma or equivalent
Some experience related to the customer service and/or office management
Ability to courteously answer telephone calls and write business correspondence
Ability to understand and effectively communicate numerical data as well as calculate figures and amounts (i.e. discounts, and percentages)
Cake decorating experience is helpful, but not necessary.
Friday and Saturday 9:30-6pm
