Computing Services Technician II (1 position - Raleigh): Position #60088555: The purpose of this position is to serve as Microsoft administrator and Level 2 support as computing services technician I (CST I) supervisor. This is accomplished by performing operational and managerial duties; administrating the Microsoft environment; acting as primary point of escalation from CST I level; maintaining equipment inventories; and assisting users with special projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Administrates the Microsoft environment by setting up and maintaining computer PC images; working with Computing Services Manager on implementing new technologies; and administering security, data integrity, and data protection systems of NCEL. Performs managerial duties by providing desktop support; ensuring assistance requests are performed; ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to; assigning individual trouble tickets; monitoring Track-it reports for trends; providing performance appraisals and training plans; providing training and documentation to users; installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software applications. Acts as primary point of escalation from CST I level by completing advanced assistance requests; working with other individuals/departments for completion of advanced tickets; escalating trouble tickets; monitoring and identifying trends or irregular activities on jobs; maintaining confidential information; and establishing vendor relationships. Education and experience: Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature that may be obtained with six-months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Community college, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence schools are likely sources with over one year up to and including three years of experience. Hiring Range: $45,759 - $59,487, depending on knowledge, experience, skills and, salary history. Closing Date: September 1, 2015.
