Become a youth mentor for multicultural teens living in the Baldwin/Whitehall area of the South Hills!

Our Youth Mentoring Program is focused on students 11-18 years old and is held weekly at the Prospect Park Family Center in Whitehall. We work with former refugee families from Burma, Nepal, and various African countries. We are currently looking for responsible, reliable, and fun volunteer mentors to work weekly with all of our groups, which are divided by age and gender. Each group meets one evening per week, Monday through Thursday. Experience with teens and/or multicultural settings is a plus but not required. Mentors generally work in pairs with support from staff to plan and implement fun activities as well as guide discussion centered on making positive choices, building skills at home and in school, and planning for college and future careers. Weekly meetings with the students run October through June, and we will have introductory trainings in September. We are looking for a commitment of at least one school year to volunteer in our program. Contact us today! Background checks are required for all volunteers.
