Under supervision of the chef, the assistant is responsible for preparing meals and other related duties as assigned. You'll direct all aspects of food production including ordering, preparation, and inventory. This job requires working on weekends and holidays.
1.Must have at least two years' cooking experience working in a volume feeding operation or a la carte restaurant
3.Culinary Degree preferred
4.Possess strong leadership qualities, sound managerial and organizational skills
5.Must be willing and eager to learn, as this is a career-oriented position
6.Must understand and use principles of food service sanitation and technical skills in food preparation
7.Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to height of 4 feet
8.Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors, often standing in one spot for lengthy periods of time
9.English literate; able to read and comprehend labels and recipes printed in English for both cleaning chemicals and food products
10.Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and comply with YMCA driving record rules
