Meteorcomm, a global telecommunications company that provides data communications solutions and services for the railroad industry is looking for Sr. Manufacturing Test Engineer based out of the Renton area.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Key member of the test team. Responsibilities include identifying and defining detailed system and subsystem tests for
communication systems and their associated interfaces with other applications, preparing test plans and defining test
configurations to support required tests. Appropriately represent the needs of stakeholders while maintaining overall
Act as the liaison for manufacturing test activities between MCC, EMS and 3rd party test service vendors.
Collaborate with EMS vendors to produce fully qualified manufacturing test systems.
Lead manufacturing test system requirements definition and architecture.
Manage EMS vendor manufacturing test work activities.
Participate in the development of test plans and test cases.
Participate in the development of DFX requirements.
Participate in functional, integration, usability, configuration and installation testing.
Communicate test results and status.
Evaluate the outcome of each test cycle and participate in reviews.
Root-cause analysis and sustaining engineering for high-volume, complex radio systems.
Automated software development, validation, and deployment (LabVIEW and TestStand)
Product development for automated test systems; feature development, troubleshooting, validation, deployment,
Project management and oversight for test systems in a repair environment. Design SWRs, ECOs, and other documentation for automated test systems in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of a BS degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
3+ years of experience developing automated test systems with LabVIEW and TestStand
Experience with monitor and control interfacing in an automated test environment
RF hardware testing experience. Understands basic concepts of radio communications.
10+ years experience with communication systems test engineering and requirements analysis
Experience with at least 4 full major embedded product releases
Detailed knowledge of both manual and automated testing of embedded systems
Detailed knowledge of Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, and other communication protocols
Clear understanding of embedded system development practices
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus well-developed office software skills
Organized and detailed self starter, able to work independently with little supervision
Adapts readily to changes in scope and purpose
Understanding of common device failures and faults
Experience with strategic vendor management
Experience with development or testing of wireless systems and products
Experience in development of embedded software, C/C++, and real time systems
Working knowledge of common wireless protocols, network topologies, and IT infrastructure.
Working knowledge of telecom networks
