Your main responsibilities will be:
plan, direct, or coordinate the services or resources of the funeral home. Activities includes: determining prices for services or merchandise and managing facilities of the funeral home! On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to: attend or make presentations at community events to promote funeral home services and/or build community relationships; conduct market research and analyze industry trends; direct and supervise the work of the secretary, funeral attendants, and other staff; negotiate contracts for prearranged funeral services. These are some of the duties associated with this position, there are more detailed information outlined in the job description! To achieve this, you will be working with a team of people (secretary, funeral attendants, and other staff), while operating from a remote location, the president of the funeral home will be expected to meet with the manager at least two times a week either in person or telephone, means no direct supervision of the president-you're free to roam! Your work will enable the company to: strive in the funeral home industry; provide managerial leadership the company needs; promote the funeral home of tomorrow; serve as an instrumental element to the development of the Zach H. Lewis Memorial Funeral Home; and have an opportunity to SHINE!
Requirement and Qualification:
You will be an excellent candidate for this position if you are a self-starter, a good leader, innovative, don't mind-hitting-the-ground-running, have a passion for civic service; ready to take the funeral service industry to the next level; and most importantly, willing to learn and self-developed! You will have completed either a 2 year of an applied science associate's degree and/or a 4 year bachelors of science in mortuary science; successfully completed an apprenticeship; passed the state and national board of funeral director and embalmers' licensing; and will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the funeral service industry. You will have demonstrated strong skills in: business, compassion, interpersonal, time-management, and possess the ability to lead and will be willing to reside in the housing unit provided by the funeral home, work on an on-call basis, willing to lift 150 pounds, work long evenings and weekends.
