SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The dietary aide assists in the kitchen area prior to, during, and after meals are served to the residents/patient; and assists in maintaining kitchen work areas, and keeping equipment, utensils and food plates clean and orderly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (To be completed without harming or injuring the resident/patient, co-worker, self, or others):
? Uses precaution with exposure to temperatures and humidity changes as a result of entering refrigerated storage areas, working at ovens, ranges, dishwashing machines and at steam tables.
? Prepares meals, snacks, and nourishments in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as the facility's standards and procedures
? Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures, adhering to extended menus, recipes, and specific therapeutic diets according to the preplanned menu.
? Serves meals that are palatable, appetizing in appearance, garnished and at proper temperature, on a timely basis, safely without harming or injuring the resident/patient, yourself, co-workers or others.
? Serves food from steam table and/or transport food delivery carts to the resident areas.
? Honors residents/patients food likes/dislikes per tray ticket within prescribed diet parameters.
? Ensures food supplies for the next day's production are available. Completes preparations
