I just moved to LA (ok, Orange County, because the LAPD seems to be a little unhinged) and started a digital video production studio. We will be primarily engaging in stop-motion animation but I'm sure we will delve into plenty of other creative projects: live-action, cell animated, commercials, documentaries, you name it.
I have the leadership identified and signed up to start producing the actual content right away. The form this will take are quick 1 minute videos for monetization on Youtube until we garner attention and someone comes to us with funding for a whole series (We don't know who that will be yet, those negotiations have not started yet).
I need a personal assistant to help me organize my time acting as a producer and the creative vision for the show (i.e. showrunner). We need to hire the following people:
Executive line producers
A least one entertainment lawyer that specialize in IP defense
At least one -- consultant? Someone who knows this industry and can advise best practices
This job, like all the above jobs, is either corp-to-corp or 1099. My company has very few full time employees and our model is 1099 employees whom we try to pay as much as possible given the market and their roles. Speaking of which, pay is commensurate with experience. Were you Seth McFarlane's personal assistant at some point but got fired or moved on? You're at the top of the list. Someone who is bright, creative, enthusiastic, cheerful, and take direction well is also on that list and ranked just as high.
I'll leave you the following before I close. I own a holding company that has various business interests around the country and am a fairly busy guy. All this leads to a fair amount of aggregate excitement and stress for me. My collaborator (and you will be a collaborator, not just a PA or EA) and I must follow the model I've used successfully many times: You and I must enjoy each other's company and try and energize each other as much as possible while leaving all the drama at home. Negative, down people may find employment elsewhere. We want spirit and energy!
Please have a rate in mind (you don't have to disclose this right away), if possible a headshot (I know this is LA), and a blurb about your background when you contact me. By the way, part of your job will be deleting emails from interested but boring people that try to contact us. Please don't be interesting but boring so I don't' have to do the same. Obviously you should also dig and understand social media and not be shy about self promotion.
Have a wonderful California day and hope to start down this exciting path soon!
