Southeast Michigan insurance restoration contracting company is looking for a strong candidate to fill a Construction Project Management position who can embrace the company's philosophy of maintaining our high performance standards for each and every client.
This position is for someone looking to take their career to the next level.
The highly motivated individual must have the following credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Business Administration
Supervise projects from start to finish beginning with project set-up and project start-up and ending with project close out
Walk job site to understand scope of work from Estimator
Negotiate terms and pricing from material suppliers and subcontractors
Place orders for jobsite materials -- forwarding copies to accounting in a timely manner
Create Work orders for all trades per job according to a set budget
Learn and utilize job cost coding system
Approve subcontractor and supplier invoices by using job number, cost code, date and initials
Create task schedules for each large loss or special projects
Coordinate weekly, bi-monthly and/or monthly project meetings with field and other staff members as required
Maintain job notation and other pertinent information daily in DASH job management software
Maintain job files containing subcontractor proposals and other correspondence
Track extra work (change orders), fill out the appropriate paperwork and have client sign and date. Collect funds prior to commencement of work.
Maintain client signed change orders in job folder and forward original to accounting in a timely manner
Track percentage of completion for billing purposes and notify accounting when it is time to bill the project
Perform periodic project assessment, create punch list as needed and manage the completion of such items
Collect payment or checks from clients as necessary
Oversee and/or update Production Calendar board daily
Update Outlook calendar daily
Assist in creating new procedures and administrations for various aspects of the company
Participate in voluntary company community activities, such as Adopt-A-Highway
Dynamic computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite including Project scheduling software, Excel and Xactimate.
Energetic and out-going with strong client service skills and the ability to multi-task
Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, including work nights/weekends
Effectively communicate and negotiate with clients, suppliers, architects, engineers and subcontractors
Ability to maintain budgets and schedules
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
