I recently graduated with my master's degree in Nuclear Engineering with a bachelor's degree in the same field. I have had a lot of mechanical engineering classes and feel comfortable performing a mechanical engineering job. I also have substantial foundation in biomedical engineering, especially imaging. I am available with 2 weeks notice at any time.

Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering, Radiation Detection and Applications Graduated: Fall 2014
North Carolina State University (Raleigh, NC)

GRADUATE RESEARCH______________________________________________________________________

Modeling the Response Function of a High Purity Germanium Strip Detector (Fall 2012-Summer 2014)
Oak Ridge National Lab
?Used MCNP software to model the detector and used scripts in MATLAB and Python to create a response function.
?This was my Master's thesis that was my individual research.

Safeguards Laboratory Training at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (Spring 2013)
?Attended a nuclear non-proliferation safeguards training class for learning non-destructive assay techniques.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH________________________________________________________________

Secondary Electron Emission Coefficient in Glow Discharge Plasmas (Fall 2011-Spring 2012)

Presentation at National ANS Conference (Las Vegas, NV)
Presentation at Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium at NCSU
?Group Leader for coordinating work with a Professor of Nuclear Engineering for using and building a glow discharge plasma device which showed that the role of the electrodes in the plasma created.
?Developed and reviewed technical reports, presentations, and eventual grant.
?Presented at the ANS annual meeting in Las Vegas, NV.

Senior Design Project on Cargo Detection of Co-60 in Fertilizer (Fall 2011-Spring 2012)

?Collaborated with other students to organize research efforts, conduct calculations and analyses, review results, author a final technical report, and develop presentations
?Using coincidence measurements of gamma rays, the goal was to detect Co-60 in a cargo container filled with fertilizer to support ongoing Nuclear Non-proliferation research efforts at portal entry points.
?Utilized MCNPX, MCNP-PoliMi, and Ruby for computational analysis.

WORK EXPERIENCE_______________________________________________________________

Professional Tutor (Biltmore Tutoring, Asheville, NC) (January 2015-Present)

?Tutored K-12 and college students in science, mathematics, and test prep material.

Brand Retail Employee (GapInc, Asheville, NC) (October 2014-Present)
?Prepared Shipment, attend to store technical needs, build visuals for storefront
Research Assistant (North Carolina State University) (August 2012-August 2014)

?Paid research assistant to help the research team and advisor work on projects and to work on my thesis about the response function of Germanium type strip detectors.

NCSU Young Investigators in Nuclear Engineering Teaching Assistant/Camp Counselor (July 2011, 2010)

?Taught students how to use and evaluate experimental results using the Glow Discharge Plasma Device.
?Helped transport, supervise, and teach high school students interested in Nuclear Engineering at NC State University
