I Fix Things

Jack of all trades, master of none :)

We're living in a throw-away world. It seems if something breaks our only option anymore is to toss it and get a new one.

I enjoy fixing those things that might otherwise be tossed, either because you can't find a replacement part, or repair parts are available....but it just costs too much to have someone do the repairs.

Maybe it's that old ????? with a lot of sentimental value. Maybe it's something you don't care what it looks like as long as it's functional....or maybe you don't care if it's functional as long as it looks okay.

Some things I've done recently.....repaired a broken trivet, rewired a new socket into a vintage lamp, repaired a broken bracket on a fan, replaced a sheared shaft key in a mower, cleaned and renewed stuck brake calipers....and the list goes on. Some of these things are on the automotive side of repairs, but I lean more towards other broken things....but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I prefer to have your broken items brought to me....this not only helps to keep the costs to me down, it's also better if I have all of my tools and materials handy.

Of course not all things can be fixed....but I enjoy the challenge.

What do I charge? If I put a couple of hours into making parts/repairs I'd like to make a couple of bucks, but I'm not looking to get rich....we can work something out that's fair to both of us. I'm not doing this for a living....I just like to tinker in my spare time.

So....whadda ya got?
