City Winery New York is an urban winery in the heart of Soho.
We are a fully functional winery with an annual production of approximately 9,000 cases. We source fruit from select vineyards in California, Oregon, Washington, New York.
Each vineyard is vinified as a unique lot, our main focus is on where the crop is coming from.
We are looking for a seasonal cellar hand (cellar rat, much more depending to potential) for the 2015 harvest. Start date asap to Sept 1th , end mid-November. Hourly compensation depending on experience with overtime.
Minimum of 1 harvest cellar experience is required. Please include a resume with references.
The position responsibilities include:
Receiving and sorting fruit
Operating a variety of winery equipment including pumps, filters, pallet jacks, punch down devises, etc.
Sanitation of pumps, hoses, tanks, barrels
Racking and blending wines
Punch downs and pump overs
Barrel sanitation, filling and overall cooperage care.
Nutritional and yeast additions
Cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning -- this is harvest.
Forklift experience a plus but not required
We are a small winery with unique challenges being in the heart of New York city .
Intern will be working an average of 55-60 hours per week.
Due to the urgency to fill this position, all applicant have to be able to work in US under their current legal status. CW will NOT provide J1 Visa for this position (keep in touch for next year if you think you can be a perfect fit) .
