The Quality Engineer II will provide assistance in all functions of the Quality Department, performing disciplined problem solving for supplier, customer, and internal quality defect. This position is responsible for maintaining knowledge of all products, processes, and basic quality principles required to assist with daily operations and continual improvement activities. The Quality Engineer II must also be able to understand the technical aspects of the company including supplier products and processes in order to drive quality improvements and communicate them clearly to the customer.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Work in conjunction with manufacturing, engineering and other departments to investigate root cause and develop corrective action plans for customer complaints and internal audit findings.Perform corrective action investigations and write corrective action (8D) reports on customer rejected products.Maintain communication with customers on the status of all open 8Ds and corrective actions.Interface with the IMI Supply Chain on supplier evaluation/qualification activities, including audits.Serve as the Quality representative for APQP and new product development activities. This includes assisting in Potential Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans, SPC analysis, Gage R&R, reviewing supplier quality plans, supplier PPAP review, developing inspection plans and verification/validation requirements, and evaluating required tooling and pilot runs for new/redesigned products and processes.Provide support to all departments regarding product quality, inspections, deviations and disposition of non-conforming product.Work in conjunction with the Supply Chain team to assist in the disposition of rejected supplier product.Recommend measures necessary to prevent a recurrence of defects to manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and other departments as needed.Support other members of the Quality team on matters pertaining to inspection, calibration, return authorizations (RMA), nonconforming product, process variability reduction and metrics performance.Assist with preventive actions, kaizen events, and continual improvement initiatives.Initiate and manage change requests for applicable process and documentation updates.Analyze reports and data in support of in-house process improvements, corrections, and corrective actions as a means of continual improvement. Organize and maintain the Internal Audit process, including the selection and training of auditors and management of the CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventive Action) activity.Interface directly and conduct technical conversations with customers, suppliers and other IMI facilities on quality related issues including reporting, problem analysis and system audits. Maintain frequent contact with employees and departments by being visible and available.Manage the layered process audit program.Promotes the adoption of Lean and other quality practices via active participation in LDMS and other initiatives.Promote safety and drive participation in safety program. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

Education and ExperienceBachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), science related technical degree or CQE certificate.Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and proficiency with other industry standard quality tools and techniques.Computers and Technology

Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and software products such as Minitab and the ability to use them effectively for report generation.
Certificates and Licenses

Certifications such as CQE, CQA, CQM through ASQ a plus.
