Compensation: Project-based pay commensurate to education and experience along with authorship attribution

Summary: My client seeks several Tax savvy CPA's to support a major national tax initiative. The ideal contractors will:

Perform research and write on a range of IRS tax topics.

Identify and retrieve authoritative information necessary to accurately update a variety of tax publications.

Express in writing the new or changed tax code, implications, analysis, rights and duties.

Develop practical use-case scenarios and apply them to the IRS Code. Check and update compliance-related research.

Role & Responsibilities:

Research

Find primary sources of tax code, or primary authority, in a given jurisdiction (cases, statues, regulations, etc.);
Search secondary authority for background information about a tax topic; and
Search non-legal sources for investigative or supporting information.
Writing

Apply best practices in producing surveys and other tax documents as assigned.

Ability to adapt writing style to client's needs without compromising authority or quality
Requirements:

Active CPA

5+ years of experience as a CPA

Proven ability to assess tax matters effectively & efficiently

Experience using CCH or RIA Checkpoint for tax research

Desire & talent in analytical writing

Curiosity & authentic interest in tax, risk, and compliance

Accurate and reliable methods

Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to follow project-specific style manuals

Ability to communicate concepts and researched issues with confidence in writing.

Working knowledge of tax laws and ability to apply knowledge

Excellent organizational, and verbal/written communication skills

Proficiency with MS Office Suite

Preferences

Online legal research tools such as Lexis, Westlaw & Internet

Publications or other writing experience

Law firm or compliance office experience
