Greet patients with enthusiasm in a professional and warm manner
Address all patients with respect and courtesy
Check patients in and update all information in patient chart
Verify treatment plans and financial information to patient upon arrival
Scan all treatment plans and forms for patients
Notify clinical staff of schedule changes and patient arrivals
Ensure productive patient flow, seating patients, updating medical history,
Maintain and work tickler file and short call list to fill schedules
Verify patients insurance coverage
Answering phones (if not with a patient) within 4 rings. Document nature of call and route to appropriate party if needed.
Maintain master schedule
Call and handle no show or reschedule patients
Verify phone numbers and insurance information with each phone encounter.
Return calls to patients who leave phone messages.
Familiar with various types of forms (demographic, school, disability and welfare forms). Direct patient to complete his/her portion before accepting form to give to provider. Assist patients with low literacy level to complete forms. Follow protocols for handling forms.
Familiar with the insurances accepted by SCHC so that patients are not given an appointment if we do not accept that insurance.
Able to explain the uninsured program in an understandable manner.
