JOB DESCRIPTION:
Prepare incoming and outgoing mail for distribution. Use hand or mail handling machines to time stamp, open, read, sort, and route incoming mail; and address, seal, stamp, fold, stuff, and affix postage to outgoing mail or packages. Duties may also include keeping necessary records and completed forms. This position is also back-up for the front desk receptionist and assists the marketing and advertising department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS:
Receive, sort and distribute mail and parcels to the appropriate individual or department
Keep records of mail/parcels received
Provide support in picking and packing promotional material
Maintain adequate mailroom and office supplies
Prepare outgoing mail and parcels via USPS, UPS, etc.
Run errands as needed and requested
Relieve receptionist for breaks
Other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Punctuality and proven attendance record
Must have valid Oregon drivers' license and proof of insurance
Basic computer competency
Basic mathematical skills
Basic computer skills. (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Detail-oriented to meet tight deadlines
Clerical tasks such as data entry and filing
Able to work independently in a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, supervisors, staff and other employees
Courteous to other employees and shows respect for company property and awareness of safety as a value in the company
Ability to function in an office environment effectively
Flexibility and commitment to changing priorities
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED
1 -- 2 years office experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described below are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions for this job:
Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
Stand for long periods of time
Walk and push cart around the building(s)
Work in a sitting position for up to 8 hours a day with minimal breaks
Use hands, arms, and fingers to operate equipment
Lift and carry up to 10 pounds regularly
Stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
May be required to use ladders and/or stairs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
An employee may encounter certain work environment characteristics while performing the essential functions of this position however the majority of job duties will be performed in an office with controlled temperature and limited exposure to outside hazards.

High noise level
