I'm trying to find a home for a female purebred Catahoula I recently rescued from an abusive home.
She was used for hunting, but that's it..pretty much kicked around, barely ever fed, kept on a chain, and kicked around some more. She's a year and a half old, and super super sweet. She can be shy, but really opens up once she knows you're not going to hurt her. She adores children, and other dogs.
I've had her for two weeks, and you couldn't ever tell she was mistreated. She knows she can trust us now, and would do absolutely anything for us. I have her indoors, and she hasn't had an accident yet.. even when I'm at work. She sleeps in a crate at night, and does fine. She really loves having a soft bed now. Never has gotten in the trash. She's had a bath already and is flea free. I also wormed her. She's very healthy. Her previous owners said she has had shots, but I cannot provide proof, and I do not want to interfere with her pregnancy by getting her shots. I would wait until the puppies are here.
She was NALC registered, but I did not take her papers. Her mate was purebred. He just found his forever home, I took the pair in with hopes of saving their life. Their owner came home and found them tied together mating, and was going to shoot her because he didn't want pups. This was just two weeks ago. So she's very early along in pregnancy. Puppies will be purebred.
I do not want a breeder to get her. I want her to experience a great life that she never has before, a family. Someone that will find the puppies GREAT homes, and have her fixed. Not someone who will let her raise the puppies and pass her along to someone else. Absolutely NO chains.
I am actually located in texas, but I will meet anyone that wants her from Oklahoma in Durant, I don't mind.
She does have a rehoming fee of $200. This is to insure you can afford the cost of raising a litter, and don't just want a bait dog. Please don't ask me to lower it. And I will want to know a lot about you and your home..not to be nosy, but to make sure she'll be happy with you. Thanks.
