Scosha is a rapidly growing design and manufacturing company positioned in the high end designer jewelry market. The design and workmanship of our jewelry is cornerstone to our brand. We believe in consistent and exceptional customer support, exclusivity and quality.
The distribution of the line is through a wholesale sales division and Scosha retail store and ecommerce. We operate In Brooklyn NY.

We are looking for a Part time or up to 30 hours Production line Jeweler in our Brooklyn studio that will also assist and work directly with our lead designer and head of bench on new design creation, samples and documentation. This role requires a unique balance of creativity, craftsmanship, extreme attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The position requires proficiency in all aspects of jewelry production including parts assembly, soldering, forging, stone setting and finishing. Additionally, this role entails documentation of all aspects of new designs, including product patterns and components.

Key responsibilities of this position:
Working directly with designer during initial design creation phase.
Create all design samples to serve as production prototype and sample set for wholesale showrooms and Press.
oCreate product sample based on sketch produced by designer.
oMake sample using jewelry fabrication, including parts assembly, soldering, bezel and prong stone setting, forging, and finishing.
oProblem solving and identify proper way to construct products based on rough sketches/initial designs.
Organize sample creation process
oDetermine parts necessary for creating samples; work with production manager and vendors to place orders for needed materials.
oEnsure proper treatment and storage of valuable parts, including precious stones, high karat metals and one-of-a-kind elements.
oEffectively track production process, including production time
Document production information for new samples
oCreate pattern for pattern book and database, incorporating product rendering, parts required to make each piece, step-by-step fabrication instructions and production notes..
oCoordinate with other team members who create photos and scans.
Provide feedback to management team regarding improvements on design process, including design introduction, review, production and discontinuation.
Ongoing improvements to designs and processes
oDocument changes to older designs based on improvements to patterns, production methods, clarification of parts, etc.
oWork with staff on individual projects, such as determining how to execute special orders,

You will be bench tested for this position. You must demonstrate a strong knowledge of metal smithing to be considered for this position.

Requirements for this candidate:
Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in jewelry production and/or metal-smithing. Strongly prefer experience working in some capacity of design or production management at another jewelry company.
Basic sketching/drawing skills. Some academic background in design.
Demonstrated technical skills including:
oMinute soldering skills; ability to work with 24 & 26 &28 gauge sheet and wires with an oxy-acetylene torch.
oAbility to planish and forge using hammer and anvil.
oStrong ability to manipulate hand tools including the use of a flex shaft, files, saws and pliers.
oAdept at bezel, prong, channel and other stone setting techniques.
oProficient in working with gold.
Strong attention to detail - in craftsmanship, organizational processes and written documentation.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Ability to work under deadlines.
Reliability (attendance, timeliness, follow-through.)
Ability/desire to act as a team player.
Demonstrated initiative and ownership of work product and space.
Management experience.
