The Institute for Community Leadership in conjunction with AmeriCorps, provides life transforming, paid positions for two people interested in the fields of education, law, any and all social and physical sciences, and human services. Each intern receives a monthly stipend of $1,195, as well as a $5,730 education award that can be used to pay off existing student loan debt or for future education, and medical insurance. Here are three reasons the positions are an outstanding career opportunity:

1. Interns develop the skills to coordinate with school administrators, teachers and parents to assist all students, across race and socioeconomic station, in "learning how to learn".
2. Interns organize and participate in dynamic classes, professional development sessions and leadership seminars for adults and youth with elected officials, the public sector and business leaders.
3. Program has transformational results! After eight weeks of programming, research reveals 100% increase in student civic engagement, and 97.6% of the students increase or maintain academic grades. 100% of the students graduate from high school, 96.3% enroll in community or four-year colleges, 89% are conferred degrees ranging from AA to JD, and they integrate in a host of public and private sector careers.

Positions are 10.5 months and require a car.
