Applied Behavioral Learning Services/Integrated Learning Academy-Newton, is a leading provider of behavior analytic services for individuals with Autism. We are seeking an individual to be in charge of all human resources functions within the organization. The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to our home-based service providers and our chapter 766 approved private school in Newton, MA.

The individual must be an experienced, flexible and competent human resources professional with full knowledge of various functions including, but not limited to, recruiting/hiring, on-boarding, benefits, payroll, workers compensation, unemployment, training, and organizational change/development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- In charge of all human resources functions reporting to the director of operations and executive director
- Assist senior staff in recruitment and interviewing of staff at all levels in the organization
- Administer all company benefit programs including but not limited to 401k health/dental/life, short-term long-term disability etc.)
- Maintain all status documentation including new hire information, pay change information, and employment status change information
- Administer the performance review program
- Maintain all employee records
- Coordinate employee trainings and/or new hire orientation as needed
- Develop and communicate critical news updates to employees
- Coordinate leaves of absences( FMLA, MMLA etc. . .)
- Administration of COBRA
- Reconciliation of monthly benefit bills to ensure accurate deductions
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Process background checks (CORI and Finger Printing)
- Creates and develops special projects to increase efficiency of processes and recommends suggestions to executive director and senior staff.
- Other duties as assigned


- BA/BS required; Masters preferred
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience preferred
- High-level of proficiency using Microsoft Office( Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Federal and state(s) employment & labor law knowledge
- Compensation & benefit administration experience preferred
- NPA works, billing +payroll experience preferred; Harpers Payroll Services a plus
- Ability to prioritize multiple major tasks; excellent organization skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters in a highly professional manner
- Motivated and self-starter with the goal of exceeding expectations
- Ability to work both independently as well as in a team
- Ability to deal with conflict and act as a mediator
- This position may supervise an intern or part-time employee
