WE help brands create and distribute their own eyewear. We launched Classic Specs in 2010, Steven Alan Optical in 2013, and a sunwear line for Anthropologie in 2015. Quickly expanding as an eyewear platform for the fashion world, eponym is poised to debut new lines for exciting brands in the coming months. Born in Brooklyn, we've just opened a new office in Manhattan's Flower District.
YOU strike up conversations with strangers at the DMV. You take off-beat courses just because they sound interesting (e.g. "The Philosophy of Crustaceans and other Bottom-Feeders," "Medieval Epic Poems in 140 Characters or Less," and "The Implications of Space Travel on the Special Sauce in Big Macs").
You're looking for an internship because you wonder what the heck people really do 40 hours a week (and because your parents have threatened to charge rent after you graduate). Plus, despite your brilliance, you're not really sure what you'll do with all that obscure knowledge in the "real world." You just know that you want to be able to have an impact - to take ownership of your projects while learning the ropes.
Our Customer Experience Team creates happiness. We field all sorts of customer questions, we read and submit prescriptions, and we make sure potential customers can find the information they seek. We love our customers, and they love us back. Customer raves include: "I've been a diehard customer for years now. Let's grow old together, lol!" and "You guys are lil' angels."
We're looking for a Communications Intern to turbo-charge our Youtube channel and be a pinch-hitter for the team.
*Build up the content and quality of our Classic Specs Youtube channel
*Learn the aspects of a direct-to-consumer startup business
*Immerse yourself in eyewear expertise
*Contribute to customer outreach initiatives
*Communicate with customers by email, phone, and even by video
This is the perfect position for you if you're eager to be immersed in the life of a startup. Surrounded by product designers, engineers, and marketers alike, you'll be exposed to the many facets of a quickly growing business.
*A great academic record
*Solid writing and speaking chops
*Some skills in editing film (we use imovie right now)
*Vision, ideas, and positivity
*High tolerance for bad puns
*Free eyewear (discount for friends and family)
*Catered lunch twice a week
*Co-workers who don't bite
Please apply by emailing a cover letter and resume to hannah [ a t ] eponymous.co. Be sure to include your desired start date, hours, and weekly availability. Bonus points for video resumes!
