Position Title:Curriculum Program Lead
Classification:Full-time, FLSA Exempt

The Training Partnership is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit school and the nation's leading training and workforce development provider for Home Care Aides, training more than 43,000 students annually. Training includes innovative basic training, continuing education, and advanced training in more than 200 classrooms and online and in 13 languages. Developing a competent, stable home care workforce is our aim.


The Curriculum Program Lead reports to the Director of Curriculum and coordinates team members and contractors who develop curriculum as well as deliverable schedules, budgets, documentation, and systems for curricular projects.

The Program Lead:

manages the assessment, design, development, and implementation of training programs and instructional materials using instructional design methods and technology best practices;
ensures training quality in design and implementation; and
establishes and maintains standards for instructional design based upon competency-based education and other adult learning best practices.

Responsibilities -- Program Management

Initiate and manage timelines for all curriculum products, checking in regularly with subject matter experts, advisory groups, and contractors to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed within budget.

Source, contract, and oversee contractors who contribute to the curriculum process, such as copy editors, consistency review, or contracted updates not performed in house.

Source, contract, and directly manage contracted instructional designers for stand-alone projects, orient them to our standards and processes, and receive and approve deliverables.

Plan and manage the instructional design and development of multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously, including instructor-led training, e-learning, video/DVD, blended learning and train-the-trainer, from conception to handoff of products to other departments to implement.

Coordinate closely with Logistics department to ensure implementation considerations are integrated into design and production, to ensure seamless handoff and plan and manage post-delivery development considerations.

Utilize and contribute to enhancement of Training Partnership systems to document and fix issues that surface during a pilot prior to launch.

Manage updates of programs at periodic points post implementation, including potential translation of instructor-led curriculum into e-learning.

Work closely with Senior Researcher to integrate research findings to develop evidenced based curriculum and continuously enhance Training Partnership's system of translating research data into content for Instructional Design and development.

Responsibilities -- Instructional Design

Perform job/needs/audience analysis to identify policies/procedures, compliance performance requirements, and student capabilities and learning styles.

Design competency-based instructional sequence to accomplish learning objectives.

Define instructional design specifications and formats (e.g. instructor and participant, virtual, on-line).

Develop competency-based learning objectives, metrics, and levels of task mastery required. Present analysis of findings to stakeholders and collaborate in defining instructional treatment required.

Select best-practice instructional methods and techniques (e.g. self-paced, group-paced, media, materials). Design processes of reinforcement to ensure learning.

Partner with subject matter experts to develop learning objectives and training content that result in information that is relevant and complete. Monitor program preparations and prepare delivery resources (people and material) to ensure deliverables are completed in scope and on schedule.

Research, organize information, write, and oversee instructional materials (instructor and student guides, graphics, tutorials, references, tests, etc.).

Develop and maintain competency-based evaluations to ensure quality in the development and delivery of training programs by establishing and maintaining standards for instructional design based upon adult learning best practices.

Manage version control of all curriculum products, ensure all supporting documentation is collected for each product.


BA or BS degree in adult education, public health, public policy, business administration, or related field required.
2 years project management experience
2--5 years of instructional design experience


Experience with project management;
Experience with designing and developing competency-based curriculum;
Experience in educational settings or non-profits a plus;
Highly organized, detail oriented, creative problem solver;
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and be self-directed in work;
Eager to work collaboratively and coordinate members of team;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships;
