Description: A cool old archtop which has told many stories and is not at all ready to end it's legacy. This is a Gibson L-30 in Ebony finish which was made in either '35 or '36. The ebony finish L-30, one of the rarest Gibson archtops given it's limited production, was axed in late 1936 and replaced with the much more common sunburst finish which is much more common and was discontinued in 1943. We do not have the original case for this guitar. It came to us in an aftermarket case though it fits very well inside.

Hand-carved solid spruce top
Solid maple back/sides
Single bound body
Ebony nitrocellulose finish
Brazillian rosewood fingerboard
1935-1936 year of production

Condition: Good shape considering it's age. Honest play wear from an 80 year old guitar including, but not limited to: tell tale pick scratches on both sides of the upper bout, little to no buckle rash, worn finish from both side of the neck, a few "dugout" spots on the fingerboard particularly before the 3rd fret, and a few dents and finish chips on both the body and neck. The only "dishonest" wear is a spot on the back where I suspect it was leaning against a heater. The binding melted at said spot and the finish was damaged and started chipping away. The photos we took go into greater detail of the imperfections on this particular model. All parts are stock, nothing has been replaced except for the case
