If you like to sew, this is the best machine I have ever used, and I've been sewing for a couple of decades. I've moved it between two states over the last few years, but now I'm moving to the west coast, and it's just too heavy to justify the shipping cost.
Unlike cheaper machines nowadays, the mechanics are actually made of metal and other sturdy materials, so it's not light, but you know it will last. This is a retired model of the 1600P. I paid just over $1,000 for it 7 years ago, and it works as well as it did the first day I used it. It can sew a long, straight line easily and quickly (actually normal, fast, and super fast speeds are available). It also allows you to turn corners quickly with a knee-triggered lift of the presser foot. The press of a button cuts your threads and you're ready to start a new seam. The wide, long arm makes it easier to work with heavier, larger pieces of fabric. The bobbin is a snap to load.
