General Position Summary The Neighbor Connector/SFFC Lead will develop an in-depth knowledge the Fostering Hope Neighborhood and work with neighbors to identify activities to strengthen family protective factors and support a neighborhood that will be a safe, healthy, nurturing place to raise children. The position will help neighbors explore needs, identify strengths and opportunities, organize activities, and secure resources to make meaningful changes. The Connector/SFFC Lead will empower neighborhood leadership and support engagement with Fostering Hope partners and key stakeholders. The Neighbor Connector/SFFC Lead will assist the FHI/SFFC Associate Director with implementation of activities, support and professional development of the Safe Families for Children volunteers, including mobilization and engagement of SFFC volunteers in serving families. The Neighbor Connector/SFFC Lead will assist the Associate director with data collection, analysis and reporting. Essential Position Functions and Key Work Processes 1. Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Fostering Hope Neighborhoods and SFFC service areas. 2. Initiate and maintain connections with neighborhood schools, churches, civic groups, and other places where neighbors gather. 3. Engage neighborhood residents and families to identify neighborhood strengths and assets. 4. Engage and support neighborhood residents to plan and implement activities that strengthen family protective factors and deepen their connections and active commitments to the neighborhood. 5. Develop, coordinate and support implementation of neighborhood activities that increase positive interaction between neighbors. 6. Work with the Fostering Hope Initiative Team to develop strategies and identify resources that will support development and implementation of neighbor-driven family strengthening activities. 7. Provides leadership and innovation to assist in developing and implementing a shared vision of SFFC and FHI with emphasis on improving and expanding capacity for Safe Families for Children. 8. Assists Associate Director to recruit, mentor, train and coordinate volunteers to serve with SFFC. 9. Demonstrate effective communication skills including written, verbal and non-verbal contexts, formal and informal settings and in large and small group environments in English and Spanish. 10. Implement a variety of communication, marketing and media strategies to support FHI , with special focus on Safe Families for Children. 11. Work collaboratively by providing support and backup to Associate Director to maintain on-call status to assist in management of Safe Families for Children. 12. Ensures that funds are spent wisely and adequate controls are maintained.Minimum Requirements 1. Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience. 2. Experience, training or education that equips the individual to fulfill the duties of the position. 3. Access to an automobile as a condition of employment; valid driver's license with a driving record that permits coverage under the agency's corporate auto liability policy; and personal automobile liability insurance. 4. Experience working with or supporting low-income populations. 5. Bilingual Spanish/English is required.
