Assists in the management of Quality Assurance activities for all phases of production, personnel and laboratory operations; Schedules and assigns workloads and maintains close rapport with production to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting quality; Directs product quality surveillance of manufacturing areas with possible HACCP monitoring, conducts periodic facility inspections and may perform daily bacteriological environmental inspections in critical plant areas; supervises special inspections for incoming materials, end-of-run products, etc.; Coordinates with production in the monitoring of packaging lines for effective control of CCPS, thermal processing, metal detection, x-ray, SPC product weights, codes and product/package integrity.
Food Safety & Quality.
Responsible for food safety and quality
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with timelines to completion.
Shall drive Simple Root Cause (SRC) to identify and understand product quality defects and failures in the product process for continuous improvement of product quality
If they identify a deficiency in Food Safety and/or Quality, they are responsible for taking corrective action and reporting the issue to their direct supervisor.
Monitor production work methods to manage overall product to meet all Customer, Consumers, State, FDA, USDA and quality objectives.
Regularly inspect production lines to identify and resolve any quality issues.
Manage raw material program to ensure receipt of quality supplies.
Collect data and perform statistical analysis to track key parameters.for Quality Index for specification and process improvements..
Validate inspections for sanitation effectiveness and environmental monitoring.
Plan quality labor staffing to budget and fill temporary vacancies when needed.
Conduct GMP orientations with new employees.
Develop and write employee procedures to aid sampling consistency.
Promote teamwork to achieve quality and plant objectives.
All employees must have annual validations
All required corporate monthly Food Safety & Quality training is completed has schedule.
Monitor all compliance programs dealing with product weights, thermal processing, and GMP's,
Develop and communicate plant programs to meet compliance with government standards and HAACP guidelines.
Finding sources of foreign material; product quality defects root causes and corrective actions to provide technical assistance and educating General Production Supervisors and hourly employees in meeting design levels of quality to avoid costly mistakes, and keeping current with Quality Policies, USDA and FDA regulations and applications.
Directly supervises subordinate employees in the Quality Assurance Department; Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
