I am a private instructor and private tutor for the sciences. I live in Fresno.
Greatest Asset: 33 years of private teaching and tutoring in different subject matters, including but not limited to Chemistry, Physics, Math + Statistics
Benefits: Throughout those years of working with students, I have been able to identify and implement
different methods of explaining difficult concepts and find approaches to solving problems, based primarily on the way a particular student views those concepts and problems.
Some find analogies essential while for others they a re a distraction. They feel more comfortable in the abstract world. Some find the use of formulas to be the key to finding solutions while others prefer relying on logic. I not only teach but explain how these various "individual-dependent open channels of understanding" can be exploited.
My second greatest asset: B.S., M.S. and a Ph.D. These degrees are not simply for display. It's not only that I have acquired a growing body of knowledge (which has its own benefits) but that through my involvement in the research world I have come to know "areas of significance" in each subject matter. This knowledge helps me in conducting a more efficient tutorial session and to address areas that are most commonly the subject of test and exam questions.
Fee: $50 per 2 hour session, $220 paid for 5 session, $250 paid for 6 sessions
Groups of 2 are welcome - no additional fee.
