Job Title: Etch Technician
The Etch technician will be qualified to properly perform specific calibrations, specific tests and to record results in accordance with specific approved etch procedures. The etch technician shall be knowledgeable of preparation of parts before and after etching along with having the ability to follow procedures in the etching process. In the etch technician's role, the technician will be responsible for providing reliable results while paying close attention to safety and project timelines.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Read manufacturing and engineering instructions for preparing materials in racks for etching or cleaning.
Maintain tanks to ensure proper concentration.
Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
Maintain high quality and production standards.
Complete all necessary required paperwork.
Process and measure product to ensure compliance to blueprint and work instruction specifications.
Understand use of chemicals and handle in a safe and proper manner.
Ensure all personal protective equipment is used and maintained.
Maintain clean, neat, and safe work area.
Understand disposing of hazardous waste materials.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent.
No experience necessary.
Additional knowledge, skills, abilities, qualifications, and licenses
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of practical application of etching processes.
This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the production of various goods.
Knowledge of etching chemistry.
Experience using industry specs such as: ASTM E1 742, Boeing, GE, Honeywell and Pratt
Ability to organize and document NDT results
Familiar with testing codes and standards
Must be able to read and write English
Must be able to work morning or swing shift with overtime as needed

Position is primarily based in a laboratory environment. Technicians will be exposed to, but may not come in contact with, noise, dust, dirt, oils, and other industrial airborne particles.
