I would like to swap my apt for an apt in NYC (Manhattan) for a year (from October 2015 but we can agree on dates).
Nice and historical building located in the heart of Gracia. Live the experience of living in a typical Barcelona apartment with high ceilings and hand painted floor tiles. Sunny, quite, spacious apartment. Unforgettable stay in Barcelona!
You will enjoy the cosmopolitan convenience of this beautiful apartment in a typical modernist building in Gracia in the heart of the Barcelona. It is on the third floor of an elevator building. The apartment is quiet, very sunny and large. It features a spacious and sunny living room with a dinning area, a modern, fully-equipped kitchen with breakfast table, a refurbished bathroom, 2 double rooms, 1 single room, 1 office room and 1 bathroom. There are old beautiful hand painted floor tiles that are reminiscent of late nineteenth century architecture and design, and high ceilings throughout the apartment. It also has a balcony and a covered gallery.
Laundry in the apt.
TV and DVD.
The neighbourhood of Grcia is just one stop up from the top of Passeig de Grcia but it feels like a whole different world. The area is perfect for those who want something a little bit different, those who perhaps have been to Barcelona before and want a different tourist experience. Although really because central Barcelona is so easily accessible from Grcia it is suitable for everyone.
The area is popular with artists and a generally bohemian crowd, it also has a high ethnic population and the highest concentration of foreign restaurants in Barcelona. Plaa de Sol is the most renowned area of the neighbourhood, it's lined with terrace cafes and at night this is where the people convene to drink and be merry. However despite the trendy nature of Grcia it is also a traditional barrio with a large elderly population which makes for an amusing and odd mix - and entertaining people-watching.
Grcia is totally self-sufficient. That is to say you could stay in Grcia and never have to leave, there are good amenities of every sort, bars, cosy cafes, a real Mediterranean lifestyle. Whilst everything like the buildings, streets and plaas are in much smaller scale than those in the centre of town there is some striking art nouveau architecture to be seen.
5 min walk to the subway station Fontana (L3) which will take you to the city center (Plaa Catalunya&Ramblas) in 5 min.
I am also 5 min walk to another station, Joanic (L4) which will take you to the beach in 10 minutes.
