TalkTools is a dual brand on-line retailer based in a 7,000 square foot office-warehouse space on the Upper Peninsula in Charleston, SC. All online purchases, order processing, distribution, customer service, and business operations are managed from this space. Specializing in the global distribution of speech and feeding therapy products for more than twenty years, TalkTools has recently expanded into a broader online market to include the special needs commodities market. TalkTools currently employs nine full time employees as well as several contracted and part time personnel.
The TalkTools Internship Program offers both academic and non-academic internships. Below is an outline of benefits and responsibilities. To apply for this position, you must complete the online application form provided below.
~Gain valuable experience in the ever broadening field of online commerce. Participant will benefit from involvement in all aspects of business operations.
~This is a comprehensive and well-rounded training program which provides participants essential exposure and real world experiences.
~Participant's fundamental responsibilities will be website optimization, including revising copy, updating content, and importing/exporting data.
~The primary emphasis on SEO and implementation of best practices to gain traffic and improve conversions. Interns will be responsible for site testing and improvements to customer experience.
~Opportunities to work with two web stores and two blogs will maximize experience and exposure.
In addition to on-the-job training, participants may be considered for other local training opportunities. Cost of attendance for these events will be allocated by TalkTools.
~Beyond achieving relevant exposure and training, participants within this program will have the opportunity to contribute to overall company growth and development.
~This is a part time internship position which will operate on a set schedule of Monday through Friday, approximately twenty (20) hours per week. This is a salaried position and hours may vary or surpass twenty hours per week up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) hours per week.
~The duration of employment is guaranteed to a minimum of three (3) months. Excluding weekends and holidays, employment duration will equal approximately sixty paid work days.
~There will be no paid time off during the contracted training period. Minimum of 20 hours per week will be required.
~The option to extend the training contract will be determined on a case by case basis and will be dependent upon performance.
