MediaScience is seeking a Public Relations & Panel Manager for immediate employment at its Austin, Texas location. The person in this role is responsible for tasks and projects related to research panel recruitment across various test cities, panel management, panel quality, and panel communication. He/she may also interview, hire, and supervise Public Relations or Panel Recruitment interns and intern projects. This position is new and will start as a temporary full-time (requiring at least a 40-hour per week schedule) position for a six-month period, with the possibility of an offer for a permanent position after the temporary assignment has ended. Generate recruitment strategies and plans for acquisition of new panel members.
Plan and attend off-site recruitment events.
Generate status reports and ROI reports for in progress and completed recruitment events.
Provide weekly updates on any current recruitment events at weekly staff meeting.
Supervise interns who are assigned to aid in panel recruitment.
Panel Management & Quality
Generate monthly update in the last week of each month which summarizes the demographic breakdown and quality of the current panel. Report at first weekly staff meeting of each month.
Identify needs in the panel which can be addressed in new panel recruitment events.
Work with team members to improve internal software which manages panel member data.
Monitor panel member feedback on quality of in-lab sessions.
Manage social media accounts related to the research panel.
Work within a reasonable budget for all recruitment initiatives.
Lead special projects such as creation of a new research panel in Chicago, new panel communication systems (e.g., text message campaigns), etc.
Conduct extensive quarterly analyses of panel quality across multiple cities.
The Public Relations and Panel Manager must possess, at a minimum, the following:
A bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Friendly outgoing personality
Comfortable in a variety of on-site recruitment venues
Skilled with spreadsheets and large data sets
Skilled with Powerpoint or a similar presentation software
High level of teamwork
Friendly and professional phone personality
Ability to be thorough with even small tasks
Willingness to learn
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends when recruitment events are scheduled (likely once per month depending on the season)
Applicants with experience in the following areas will be strongly considered for the position:
Previous public relations experience
Previous experience with management of large data sets in Excel

Pay and Hours:
This is a temporary six-month full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, typically in 8-hour shifts. Recruitment events may often occur during evenings and weekends, so flexibility is a must. The starting salary for this position is $27,000 plus benefits. The position will be reviewed at the end of the six-month temporary period and may result in a permanent position depending on the evaluation.
