The Earth Services Business Developer is a mid-level sales management position at Landscape Development Inc. (LDI) and will be responsible for developing and pursuing new accounts, and producing accurate and timely bid estimates for the Bakersfield/Central Valley. Primary focus is on estimates for erosion control and hydroseeding. Able to negotiate pricing with vendors, subcontractors, performs site assessments and makes decisions on how to adjust price based upon circumstances of site of project. The ideal candidate preferably holds a Bachelor's degree or has equivalent experience in the field of construction/site management and has 2-4 years experience of actively developing, pursuing and selling new accounts and producing accurate and timely bid estimates. The Business Developer should be well versed in Excel, Word, PowerPoint/Keynote and Firefox/Safari search engines. Advanced proficiency in Mac OS and MAC adapted software preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following are the primary roles and responsibilities performed by a Business Developer in this position:
Adhere to and promote LDI's Company doctrine, values and mission statement.
Submit accurate Company bids in a timely and effective manner to meet the deadlines of requesting party.
Understanding and working knowledge of contractual legal language.
Perform all aspects of bidding process, including: measuring properties for field estimates, reviewing invitations to bid, pre-site inspections, preparing estimates.
Accurately records and meets the budgeted estimating man-hours required to generate an estimate on all assigned jobs. Communicates within department as appropriate.
Review contracts, write up new job information, gather plans for erosion and sediment control, write subcontracts and change orders.
Frequent customer contact to discuss project and make changes/corrections as needed.
Communicate to appropriate parties any problem areas and work to find immediate resolution.
Analyze awarded bids for estimating accuracy.
Represent the Company at various events both during and after work hours, organizations and associations for the purpose of building relationships to generate new business.
Act in the capacity of a Company representative and develop community ties to enhance the public image and brand of the Company.
Maintain a positive relationship with other companies in the industry and related industries.

Must be a self-starter, motivated to meet monthly goals with minimal supervision.
Should have excellent written, verbal communication skills and strong work ethic.
Must have a proven track record within the industry.
Must be familiar with all office equipment, computer, copy machine, fax machine etc.
Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
Possess a positive attitude.
Ability to "think outside the box".
Spanish is helpful, but also not required.
