Job Title: Museum and Education Coordinator
Department: Museum and Education Department
Supervisor: Education Program Manager and Museum Program Manager
FLSA Category: Non-Exempt
Status: Full-time (40 hours per week)

*Position Objective:
The Museum and Education Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support to the Education Department and coordinates museum related programs for the Education Department.

*Duties and Responsibilities:
Key duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Administrative Support
?Providing administrative and clerical support to the Education Department.
?Acting as liaison and providing administrative support to CCAE's Museum & Education Committees.
?Coordinating hospitality for museum & education programs.
?Assisting with special projects, Education events, and Center-wide events.
?Maintaining and updating museum- & education-related databases and lists (contacts (teachers & volunteers), participation, attendance, and other statistics) on a regular basis.
?Scheduling docents for museum events.
?Updating volunteer calendars and lists.
?Maintaining studio and education office spaces, supplies and equipment; Organizing and ordering art supplies
?Coordinating hospitality for education programs.
?Updating Education Department budget tracking sheets.

-Education Programs
?Being familiar with and providing assistance to all Education programs and events.
?Serving as liaison between program donors and teacher/school.
?Evaluating programs regularly through surveys and conversations with parents.
?Coordinating field trips and studio art projects; scheduling school groups, docents and studio instructors; sending confirmations; invoicing and following up on payment.
?Developing public programs in the visual arts for a variety of programs.

-Marketing / Development
?Arranging photo/video coverage of all museum programs and events, and managing department image files.
?Working with Marketing Department staff to create and send out promotions for upcoming education events.
?Maintaining & updating Education events on the website & social media

-Museum Education
?Scheduling school group tours.
?Researching and writing curricula for museum education.
?Creating and distributing Educators' Guides for museum tours.
?Booking museum tours and following up with contact person after tour is completed to get feedback.
?Scheduling volunteers (docents) for tours. Leading docent tours when needed.
?Working with My Story and other Education program managers to plan use of museum space for exhibitions.

-Community / Volunteer Relations
?Scheduling and training volunteers for tours, hands-on activities, trainings, and other activities.
?Updating volunteer calendars and contact lists.
?Designing and coordinating group activities and other social opportunities.

-Museum Exhibitions
?Assist Museum Program Manager with museum exhibition installation & museum store set-up
?Performs other related duties as assigned.

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
?Experience working in diverse educational communities
?Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and other design programs
?Knowledge of the Common Core and VAPA standards encouraged

*Education and Experience:
?B.A. in Museum Studies, Arts, Education, or 2 -- 5 years of experience in related fields.
?Must have experience in museum and education.
?Non-profit experience desired but not required.
